Tizen .NET Features and Components

Tizen .NET enables you to build .NET applications with Xamarin.Forms and Tizen .NET framework. Xamarin.Forms allows you to easily create a user interface, and TizenFX API provides numerous interfaces to much of the hardware that is found in modern TV, mobile, wearable, and IoT devices.

Tizen .NET consists of the following main components:

• .NET Core

  is an , general-purpose development platform maintained by Microsoft and the .NET community on . It is cross-platform (supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux) and can be used to build device, cloud, and IoT applications.

• Xamarin.Forms

  provides cross-platform APIs, which allow you to create user interfaces that can be shared across platforms. The Visual Studio Tools for Tizen enables Tizen support for Xamarin.Forms.

• Tizen.Wearable.CircularUI

  provides Tizen wearable-specific user interfaces. It is a set of extension APIs of Xamarin.Forms. Tizen.Wearable.CircularUI APIs are supported only on Tizen wearable devices with Tizen .NET support, unlike the Xamarin.Forms which support cross platforms.

• TizenFX API

  TizenFX API allows applications to call into platform-specific functionality from the shared code. This functionality enables Xamarin.Forms applications to do things a native application can do, without causing the portable part of the application to become littered with operating system-specific details.

  TizenFX supports C# APIs, which expose Tizen-specific features such as Tizen application framework, account management, location services, media services, and connectivity.

Visual Studio Tools for Tizen

Visual Studio Tools for Tizen provides Tizen-specific tools to improve your productivity.

You can create a Tizen .NET application project with the Project Wizard tool in Visual Studio Tools for Tizen. When you create a new project with a specific template, Project Wizard uses it to automatically create basic functionalities, and default project files and folders for the application.

The Visual Studio Tools for Tizen extension is registered in Visual Studio Marketplace. You can install the extension from Visual Studio Marketplace in the Visual Studio IDE. To download Visual Studio 2017 for Tizen, click . To use the latest version of Visual Studio, download .

Connect Everything

As diverse devices are getting smarter and more connected, there is a strong need for a software platform for integrated services with connected products. Tizen is designed for this and has been advancing to connect everything. To support different types of devices with seamless user experience, Tizen categorizes the features and functions as profiles. There are currently 4 profiles and the amount will grow as more products are included in the ecosystem. In the near future, lots of Internet-connected devices are anticipated to be on the market and IoT (Internet of Things) services will pervade everyone’s daily life. Tizen is moving forward to the future of everything connected.

Build Your Application

After you have created the application project, you can implement the required features. In this example, only the default features from the project template are used, and no code changes are required.

When your application code is ready, you must build the application. The building process performs a validation check and compiles your JavaScript and CSS files.

You can build the application in the following ways:

• Automatically

  The automatic build means that Tizen Studio automatically rebuilds the application whenever you change a source or resource file and save the application project.

  To use the automatic build:

  1. Select the project in the Project Explorer view.

  2. In the Tizen Studio menu, select Project > Build Automatically.

     A check mark appears next to the menu option.

  You can toggle the automatic build on and off by reselecting Project > Build Automatically.

• Manually

  The manual build means that you determine yourself when the application is built.

  To manually build the application, right-click the project in the Project Explorer view and select Build Project.

  Alternatively, you can also select the project in the Project Explorer view and do one of the following:

  • In the Tizen Studio menu, select Project > Build Project.
  • Press the F10 key.

After you have built the application, run it.

Installing Additional Packages

If you want to install a specific platform or tool, in the Main SDK and Extension SDK tabs, simply click install next to that platform or tool. The Package Manager installs all packages that are required for that platform or tool.

You can also install individual packages from a platform or tool. Unfold the list for the platform or tool, and click install next to the packages you want.

While a package is installing, you can cancel the installation in the Progress tab by clicking the x button next to the package. Due to package dependencies, canceling the installation of a single package can cancel the installation of other packages.

If you want to retry a canceled or failed installation, click the retry () button. Due to package dependencies, retrying the installation of a single package can cause the installation of other packages.

Установка и настройка Tizen Studio

Для начала, нужно скачать и установить нужный софт на Ваш ПК или ноутбук. Загружаем и ставим Java, далее нужно скачать Tizen Studio with IDE installer

Важно: выбирайте версию которая соответствует Вашей системе Windows: 32/64 bit

После установки Java, переходим к установке Tizen Studio, если необходимо, то можно поменять путь установки.

После успешной установки приложения, должен появится Package Manager, но если в друг этого не произошло то идём в папку с установленной программой (tizen-studio\package-manager) и находим там файл package-manager.exe и запускаем Package Manager.

Далее выбираем install напротив Tizen SDK tools.

После установки переходим на вкладку Extension SDK и выбираем install напротив Extras.

Теперь переходим к настройке самого телевизора на Tizen OS. Открываем Smart Hub, переходим в раздел Приложения и по очередности нажмите на пульте последовательно кнопку «1», «2», «3», «4», «5», если их нет на пульте нажмите на экранном пульте. В окне разработки выбираем ON и нажимаем Enter, далее введите IP вашего компьютера и выбираем OK.

Далее перезагружаем телевизор. (Выключаем с пульта и отключаем от электро сети секунд на 30)

Теперь включаем телевизор и переходим в раздел Приложения, если Вы всё сделали правильно, то появиться надпись Developer Mode.

Теперь заходим в Ваш, ранее созданный аккаунт Самсунг. Нажимаете на плюсик и вводите свои данные.

Также, Вам нужно узнать IP адрес тв, для этого переходим в Menu и выбираем Сеть/Состояние сети/ Настройки IP.

Теперь, возвращаемся к Вашему ПК, и запускаем уже установленное приложение Tizen Studio, найти его можно в папке 9tizen-studio/ide/TizenStudio.exe). После запуска Tizen Studio: 1) Выбираем Подключение ТВ, 2) выбираем Плюсик, 3) вводим любое имя (Name), 4) вводим IP телевизора, 5) теперь нажимаем Add (как показано на фото ниже).

Далее переводим переключатель в положение On.

Теперь нужно создать сертификат автора и дистрибьютора. Для этого, нужно зайти в раздел Tools, и выбрать Certificate Manager.

Выбираем Плюсик.

Далее Samsung.

Теперь устанавливаем галочку на TV и выбираем далее (Next).

Здесь можете ввести любое название сертификата.

Дальше нужно ввести любое Author name и Password (Важно: эти данные нужно где то сохранить, так как вполне возможно они понадобится вам будущем

Дальше видим окно с просьбой войти в свой аккаунт. Вводим данные аккаунта, который ранее создали на оф сайте Samsung.

После удачного входа переходим дальше Next.

Теперь нужно ввести Password, можно использовать такой же как ранее создавали, всё остальное оставляем как есть.

Если всё сделано правильно, то появится окно с сообщением о создании сертификатов

Важно: нужно сохранить сертификаты в другом месте, не факт, что получить их можно только один раз на конкретный телевизор, папка с сертификатами находится в Диск:\Users\Имя пользователя\SamsungCertificate

Создание проекта в Tizen Studio и установка приложений на телевизор

Выбираем значок создания проекта (слева в вверху), выбираем Template и нажимаем далее.

Здесь нужно выбирать TV.

Теперь выбираем Web Application.

Basic Project.

Здесь можно ввести любое Project name и выбираем Finish.

Теперь, Вам нужно скачать и распаковать, например приложение ForkPlayer для Tizen TV или выбрать Другое. Дальше нужно открыть архив с файлами приложения и перетащить в проект, согласившись со всем.

Теперь нужно нажимать правой кнопкой мышки по названию проекта и выбрать Run As — 1, а затем Tizen Web Application. Если всё сделано правильно, то приложение запустится на вашем телевизоре.

Инструкция по установке на samsung tizen smart tv 2015-2018 годов

Create a Project

The following example shows you how to create and configure a basic Samsung TV Web application project in Tizen Studio. An application project contains all the files that make up an application.

To create the application project:

1. Launch Tizen Studio.

2. In the Tizen Studio menu, select File > New > Tizen Project.

   The Project Wizard opens.

3. In the Project Wizard, define the project details.

   The Project Wizard is used to create the basic application skeleton with the required folder structure and mandatory files. You can easily create different applications by selecting an applicable template or sample for the Project Wizard to use.

   1. Select the Template project type and click Next.

   2. Select the profile (Custom) and version from a drop-down list and click Next.

      The version depends on the platform version you have installed and with which you are developing the application.

   3. Select the Web Application application type and click Next.

   4. Select the Basic Project template and click Next.

   5. Define the project properties and click Finish.

      You can enter the project name (3-50 characters) and the unique package ID. You can also select the location and working sets by clicking More properties.

      The Project Wizard sets up the project, creates the application files using the default content from the template, and closes. For more information on the Project Wizard and the available templates, see Create Tizen Projects with Tizen Project Wizard.

You can see the created project in the Project Explorer view. The most important files and folders include:

• : Folder for CSS files used by the application to style its content

• : Folder for JavaScript files used by the application to implement its functional logic

• : Application configuration file used by the platform to install and launch the application

• : Application icon file used by the platform to represent the application

• : Main HTML file for the layout of the application screen

Your application project is now ready for further actions. Next, build the application.

Manage the Application Configuration

To view and modify the application configuration:

1. In the Project Explorer view, double-click the file of the application. Tizen Studio opens the file in the Web application configuration editor.

2. In the configuration editor, view and modify the configuration details using the various tabs:

   • Overview: Define general information, such as the name and icon of the application.

   • Features: Define required software and hardware features. This information is used for application filtering in Tizen Store.

   • Privileges: Define the security-sensitive APIs or API groups accessed and used by the application.

   • Localization: Define localized values for the application name, description, and license.

   • Policy: Request network resource permissions to access external network resources.

   • Preferences: Define name-value pairs that can be set or retrieved through the application.

   • Tizen: Edit the Tizen schema extension properties of the application.

   • Source: View and edit the source code of the file. Changes made and saved on the other tabs are reflected in the source code and vice versa.

3. To save any changes, in the Tizen Studio menu, select File > Save All.

Managed Runtime Advantages

Managed runtime offers the following advantages to your application development:

• Faster development

  Application development is accelerated as the managed runtime handles many functions that otherwise have to be coded into the application.

• Safer code

  Managed runtime can handle bound checking, type safety, garbage collection, memory protection services, and objects that are invoked directly. Tizen Web API already provides some of the mentioned benefits, but does not provide type safety as JavaScript is not a strongly typed language.

• Lower deployment costs

  Component-based architecture makes it easier and faster to deploy applications in an enterprise environment characterized by multiple platforms, devices, and legacy systems.

• Better quality software

  Managed runtime helps you to focus on the business logic and the code specific to the application, while reducing the number of errors in the code.

• Cross-platform support

  The managed code is portable. Tizen .NET applications can have large portions of their logic applied to other systems supported by .NET Core and Xamarin.Forms.

Sign app with Certificates

On commercialized products you need to setup certificates manually using IDE 🙁

Using the CLI Installer

The CLI (command line interface) provides functional tools for running the CLI installer without the GUI environment.

To install Tizen Studio using the CLI installer:

1. Download the appropriate CLI installer for your platform.
2. Run the CLI installer:
   • On Microsoft Windows, the command prompt opens and the installer is automatically executed.
   • On Ubuntu and macOS, open the terminal, go to the directory where the installer is downloaded, and enter the command to apply the execute permission to the installer file. Then, execute the installer by entering the command with the following syntax:

     web-cli_Tizen_Studio_<version>  
     

     Table: Install options

     Option	Description
     	Displays the Tizen Studio software license agreement. You must use this option alone. Do not use with other options.
     	Accepts the license terms.
     	Skips the Java version check.

     Table: Install command parameters

     Parameter	Description
     	Specifies the installation directory path. If you do not enter the path, Tizen Studio is installed in the default directory ().

3. If you agree to the software license and the license terms, enter Y(yes) for the conditions.
4. Enter the Tizen Studio installation location.

   The CLI installer begins to install the Web App Development platform and tools on your computer.

Note

If you want to develop a native application on the CLI, you must install the Native App Development platform and tools using the CLI Package Manager.

На прошедшей выставке CES 2020, Samsung продемонстрировала три новых приложения: Sports, Music и TVPlus.

TVPlus – это сервис, предоставляющий доступ к каталогу фильмов и различных шоу. Для распространения TVPlus, Samsung планирует сотрудничество с европейскими сервисами, в числе которых Rakuten и Funke. TVPlus можно будет пользоваться в США и некоторых европейских странах уже в середине 2020 года.

Люди, купившие телевизоры Samsung 2020 модельного года, получат возможность пользоваться функцией под названием – Steam Link. Многие уже давно знакомы с игровой платформой Steam на ПК. Со Steam Link можно будет играть в компьютерные игры прямо на экране телевизора, пока включен компьютер.

Это предельно общий обзор возможностей Tizen. К сожалению, новые функции никогда не появятся в более ранних моделях. Tizen – интуитивно понятная платформа и кажется, что ее разработчики наконец-то «пошли» в направлении упрощения, вместо того, что было раньше, и теперь ей пророчат большое будущее в стремительно набирающем обороты «интернете вещей».

Операционная система Tizen построена на базе ядра Linux. Она была разработана и продолжает поддерживаться участниками Technical Steering Group, в состав которой входят такие гиганты индустрии, как Intel и Samsung. И именно компания Samsung попыталась использовать Tizen в качестве своебразной замены Android. Хотя полноценной замены из Tizen явно не вышло, в настоящее время под ее управлением работают около 30 миллионов «умных» телевизоров, стиральные машины, холодильники, «умные» часы (в том числе Samsung Gear), а также некоторые смартфоны Samsung, в основном выпускаемые для рынков России, Индии и Бангладеш. Так, в этом году компания планирует поставить на рынок более 10 миллионов Tizen-смартфонов.

Еще восемь месяцев назад Амихай Нейдерман (Amihai Neiderman), глава исследовательского подразделения израильской компании Equus Software, решил провести аудит безопасности ОС Tizen, так как, по его словам, больше этим вопросом никто не интересовался. На конференции Security Analyst Summit специалист выступил с докладом, рассказав о своих «находках», обнаруженных в ходе анализа. Дело в том, что Нейдерман выявил в ОС более сорока 0-day уязвимостей и пришел в ужас от качества кода. «Уязвимы практически все системные приложения», — сетует эксперт.

Исследователь обнаружил, что разработчики Samsung не стали утруждаться и позаимствовали немалую часть кода из операционной системы Bada, которую Samsung разрабатывала ранее. В итоге кодовая база ОС выглядит устаревшей «будто на дворе все еще 2005 год», — говорит Нейдерман.

Впрочем, большинство уязвимостей все-таки новые: они содержатся в коде, который был написан специально для Tizen в последние годы. К примеру, эксперту удалось взломать Samsung Smart TV при помощи уязвимости в каталоге приложений Tizen Store, который является эквивалентом Google Play Store. С помощью Tizen Store на устройство можно доставить любую малварь, а за счет высоких привилегий каталога возможности хакера ничем не ограничены, он получает полный контроль над устройством. Плюс heap overflow баг позволяет обойти аутентификацию Tizen Store.

Дальнейшее изучение ОС также выявило некорректное использование функции strcpy(), большие проблемы с реализацией SSL-шифрования, из-за которых информация передается в открытом виде, и множество других уязвимостей.

По словам Нейдермана, Samsung определенно планирует развивать Tizen и далее, для ОС явно готовят что-то крупное. В ходе своего выступления исследователь рассказал, что Samsung в частности призывает разработчиков писать для операционной системы больше приложений и активно расширяет инфраструктуру поддержки. «Велика вероятность, что в следующем году Galaxy S9 будут работать на Tizen, но ОС для этого еще недостаточно зрелая», — говорит специалист.

При этом за все прошедшие месяцы специалист так и не сумел связаться с представителями Samsung, хотя долго и безуспешно пытался сообщить им о проблемах. Только теперь, когда Нейдерман публично рассказал о небезопасности Tizen на Security Analyst Summit, и информация попала в прессу, представители Samsung «заметили» исследователя и поспешили заверить общественность, что работа над исправлением уязвимостей уже ведется. Нейдерман подтвердил, что связь с разработчиками Samsung налажена. В настоящий момент он помогает компании в работе над патчами.

As a platform, Tizen provides the foundation for many different applications and services, which lead to rich user experiences and chances of new businesses. For easy access and reliable trade of applications, efficient distribution channels are necessary for both users and developers. The Tizen Store is a marketplace of Tizen applications, where users can find useful applications and developers can distribute their valuable creations. It provides various application categories, such as All Games, Education, Entertainment, Kids, Finance, Lifestyle, and Social networking. Users can download applications of their choice and enrich their experiences with the Tizen devices. Application developers can monetize or share their applications for free in the marketplace.

Навигация

Основное изменение по сравнению с предыдущей системой (Smart HUB) — это реорганизация главного меню. С его помощью становится возможным запуск конкретных приложений и функций телевизора. Ранее меню занимало весь экран. Пользователю, чтобы добраться до выбранных опций, приходилось прерывать просмотр программы. Теперь, этот процесс значительно упрощается, благодаря использованию графических иконок в нижней части экрана.

Стоит отметить, что меню очень понятное – все находится на расстоянии вытянутой руки, достаточно несколько движений пультом. Навигация осуществляется плавно и быстро, все приложения запускаются без каких-либо проблем.
